MONROVIA – June 21, 2019:In the presence of CBL Board of Governors and senior staff members, Madam Nyemadi Pearson was on Friday, June 21, 2019, sworn into office as Acting Deputy Governor for Operations at the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL). Pledging an oath of fidelity to CBL, Madam Pearson promised that she will not divulge to any third party any information and secrets that she may be privy to during and after her employment with CBL. She also pledged that during her tenure in office at the CBL she will not receive any financial benefits for services rendered to any financial institution in Liberia.
Delighted in being appointed as the new Acting CBL Deputy Governor of Operations, Madam Pearson pledged her unswerving commitment to serve the organization. “I am a team player and very humble. I am here to serve and look forward to serving”, Madam Pearson said.
Madam Pearson is not new to the Central Bank of Liberia. She served as a senior staff member for two years before being appointed by President George Weah as Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) in 2018.
A member of the Board of Governors, Mrs. Sheba Brown, reinforced that point when she welcome Madam Pearson back to the Central Bank of Liberia and pledged the Board’s support to Madam Pearson, urging all staff members to do the same for sake of Liberia.
CBL Executive Governor, Nathaniel R. Patray, III, praised President Weah for his choice of Madam Pearson and welcomed her to CBL Board of Governors, stressing that Madam Pearson would use her skills in economics for the upliftment of the Bank.
